Have you ever wanted to write a blog? The Calgary Public Library is here to help- On June 7th from 6-8pm, at the 11950 Country Village Link location, there will be a presentation on “How to overcome the fear of writing a blog”, including: What is a blog? Steps to creating a blog, and why you would want a blog”



Jun 5: Pokemon trading card game @ Autism Calgary (3639 26 St NE) 6:30-8:30pm. This family friendly gathering happens every 1st and 3rd Tuesday of the month. You can find more info at

Jun 5, 12 & 19: Square Dance Rocks @ Winston Heights Community Hall (520 27 Ave NE) 6:30-7:30pm. Beginners of all ages welcome. No partners necessary. has all the info you need about square dancing, and this event.

Jun 7: Seniors Cultural Festival @ Genesis Centre (7555 Falconridge Blvd NE) Noon-2pm. There will be a talent showcase, information booths and snacks.

Jun 8: Inglewood Night Market @ 9 Ave & 10 St SE, starts at 5pm.

Jun 8: Night Market North @ VIVO (east parking lot, 11950 Country Village Link NE) 4-8pm.

Jun 9: Parade of Garage Sales @ Hidden Valley (throughout the neighbourhood). Check out the neighbourhood finds! 8am-Noon



Jun 5: Yoga for YOUR body @ Yoga Bunz Studio (7711 MacLeod Trail) Learn how to break down poses to create a practice that fits your body, including seated, standing and strength building. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased through

Jun 6-10: ‘National” Horse Competition @ Spruce Meadows. Tickets are $5, seniors get in for free. Red Arrow is providing complimentary shuttle service to the venue from the Somerset/Bridlewood C-train station. Please see for all of the info.

Jun 7: Let’s talk about… Public Art @Victoria Pavillion, Calgary Stampede Grounds (11 Agriculture Trail SE) 6-8:30pm. Tickets are $12 online, or $15 at the door. What is Public Art? What do our public spaces mean to us?  How can we engage in local public art practices and processes? Find out more at  

Jun 8&9: Eid Bazaar @ Falconridge Community Centre (95 Falshire Drive NE) 6pm-Midnight. Admission is $2. Free Iftar, and lots of great vendors.

Jun 9: Folclor Latin Fest @ Calgary Chinese Cultural Centre (197 1 St SW) 6pm-1am. Latin food, cash bar, and Latin Folk Dance Groups around. Admission is $10.

Jun 9-10: Summer Skirmish @ the Military Museums 9am-6:30pm. $5 per adult, or $10 per car gets you in to see re-enactments and demonstrations ranging from Viking raids, medieval duels, and modern combat. There will be an old west photo booth as well this year.

Jun 10: ReggaeFest Afternoon Jam @ Village Brewery (5000 12 A St SE) 1-5pm. For $20 you get a free drink, a burger, and some local Reggae music. Kids under 12 get in for free.
