Hi Everyone, 

Calgary City Council is looking into 24/7 On demand Wheelchair Accessible Taxis in Calgary, and will be discussing it at a city council meeting on March 19th. If you wish to support this more flexible option for affordable, accessible transit, consider sending a brief note of support to your city councillor. Please title your note “24/7 On demand Wheelchair Accessible Taxis in Calgary”. They just need to know that they have constituents who support this project, going into the meeting.



Mar 18-20: Earth Science for Society Exhibition@ BMO Centre. There will be hands-on exhibits taking you through the different Earth Sciences and how they affect our everyday lives. The exhibition runs Sun: 11:30am-5pm, Mon 8:45am-2:45pm, and 6-9pm, And Tues 8:45am-2:45pm. There will be speaker sessions on “How and Where to Find Fossils in Alberta, and “Everyday Astronaut”. Mar 19: Chapters & Chat Book Club Meeting @ Forest Lawn Library. 6:30-8:30pm. The reading this meeting is the Truth and Reconciliation Commission’s “94 Calls to Action”. You can download the reading for free at

Mar 22: 100 Years of History in Marda Loop @ Marda Loop Community Association (3130 16 St SW). 7pm. Join the Ward 8 Councillor and a local Historian and travel back in time, with live music, local food and a cash bar.

Mar23: The Power of Connections Dinner @ Crossroads Community Association (1803 14 Avenue NE). This is a free dinner and discussion with elected officials from different levels of government, themed “What does your order of Government do for crime prevention?” It is geared towards the communities that make up CPS District 4: Mayland, Franklin, Marlborough, Marlborough Park, Abbeydale, Applewood Park, Penbrooke Meadows, Forest Heights, Albert Park/Radisson Heights, Forest Lawn, Southview, Dover and Erin Woods.

Mar 23: Pakistan Day Show and Dinner @ Falconridge Castleridge Community Hall (95 Falshire Drive NE). Dinner, Dances, Entertainment and a lot of celebration, everything starts at 6pm. There is more information at


Mar 22: Fantastic Fossils: Where, How and Why to Find them @ Fish Creek Environmental Learning Centre (13931 Woodpath Rd SW).  7-8pm. Many fossils were unearthed in the 2013 floods, and this is your chance to learn more about where you can find out more about the pre-history of this area. To attend this event you will need to pay $5 and register at . The tickets are selling out fast!

Mar 22: Calgary Story Slam: @ The Pint (1428 17 Ave SW) 7 pm. admission is $5, and you can watch as other people tell their 5-minuite stories, or bring one of your own to share. The theme for this slam is “forgotten”.

Mar 24-25: The Outdoor Adventure & Travel Show @ BMO Centre. 10am-5pm. Admission is $8, free for support providers. Exhibitors include nearly any travel or adventure group you can think of, from the Northwest Territories, to Hawai’I to Nepal, and even locally based.
