Hi Everyone,

I hope everyone who went to the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo had a great time this year! There has been a lot of discussion since the Expo about the changes to the Expo Accessibility policies. If you noticed that the Expo was more difficult to attend/get the full experience from with these changes, you are welcome to look into a petition going around to ask the new Expo Organizers to consider changing their policies to ensure that the event can be more accessible for everybody. You can find the petition here:  , and more information about the situation at

While we are discussing accessibility, did you know about the Good Host Audience Accessibility and Inclusion Program? Inside Out Theatre has been doing incredible work making Calgary’s Theatre world more accessible, and are bringing a pay-what-you-can approach to their work. You can read the Announcement here: discusses an app called Click n’ Push, being developed in Edmonton to help wheelchair users navigate “how challenging the route they plan on taking is” in the city.

If any of these stories interest you, you want to make deeper connections, or just celebrate, don’t forget about Disability Pride Alberta on Sunday Jun 3, from 11am-2pm. You can find all of the info here:
