Hi Everyone,

Beakerhead is here! Calgary is getting taken over from September 19-23 by engineering, science and art installations & experiments. Most of the series of events are free, and you can find everything that will be wandering around town here: CASS still has some free tickets, please contact me to get yours.

If you or someone you know is missing ID, The Mustard Seed is hosting an ID fair on Tuesday September 18 from 9am-3pm. Birth certificates, health care cards, etc. There will be a Commissioner of Oaths present for this one-stop ID event. The address is 102 11 Ave SE. There will also be City of Calgary representatives taking fair entry (fee assistance) applications for city facilities.



Sep 17: Making Treaty 7: Showcase of Indigenous Art @ cSpace (1721 29 Ave ZSW) 8am-7pm

Sep 18: Pokemon Trading Card Game @ Autism Calgary (3639 26 St NE) 6:30-8:30pm. This is the first game night of the season. Event reoccurs every 1st and 3rd Tuesday night of each month.

Sep 19: Harvest Fair @ Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association (1320 5 Ave NW) 1-5pm. Show your own produce, or check everyone else’s out-- has all of the details.

Sep 21: PARK(ing) Day @ Centre street SW, Noon-6pm. Parking spots along the street will be temporarily transformed into interactive exhibits.

Sep 21: Calgary Night Market @ Bridgeland Riverside Community Association (917 Centre Ave NE) Local artisans and foods, and great entertainment.

Sep 22: Parkdale Pet Fest @ Parkdale Community Association (3512 5 Ave NW) 10am-4pm. Pet photography, dog races, food & drink by purchase. Find out more at

Sep 22: Fall Craft Market @ Killarney-Glengarry Community Association (2828 28 St SW) 9am-3pm. Autumn themed vendors and entertainment.

Sep 22: Brix N Blox 2018 LEGO Show & Fan Expo @ Chinese Cultural Centre (197 1 St SW) 11am-5pm. See this year’s Lego creations up close and personal.

Sep 22 & 23: Doors Open YYC @Various Locations, various times. Get free, behind the scenes access to a number of private spaces around town. Please see for all participating venues.

Sep 22 & 23: Kiwanis Apple Festival @ Kamp Kiwanis (241001 Range Rd 42) 10am-4pm. Come spend the day at camp, and taste some great local apples. There will also be lots of activities and entertainment to ring in Autumn. You can find out more at

Sep 22 &23: Applefest @ Granary Road (226066 112 St W, Foothills No.31) Apple everything! 11am-7pm. Admission to the public market/Applefest is free, but regular admission rates apply to the active learning park.


Sep 18: Secret Cinema @ CSIF (100, 1725 10 Ave SW) 6-8pm. You won’t know which movie will be playing until you get there, which is most of the fun. Admission by donation, snacks available for sale.

Sep 20-23 Calgary Fall Home Show @ BMO Centre (1410 Olympic Way SE) Thurs 4-9pm, Fri Noon-9pm, Sat 10am-9pm, 10 am-6pm.Tickets are $16, or you can pcik up some free tickets at the CASS office. Find out more at

Sep 21: Local Food Supper @ Unitarian Church of Calgary (1703 1 St NW) 6-9pm. Admission is $25 via There will be no ticket sales at the door.

Sep 21-30: YYC Pizza Week @ various restaurants around Calgary. Each restaurant will have a different specialty pizza for the event, and $3 of each purchase goes to Calgary Meal on Wheels. has the information you’ll need to get the pizza party started.
